Recently, Nvidia launched its multi-core AMD processor compatible motherboard chipsets, the Nforce 600A series. The 680A will be the most powerful among the series while there will be lower versions with integrated graphics. With Sli support, it supports upto 4 graphic cards which means you can run 8 monitors simultaneously! The chip has exclusive support for upcoming physics processors.
So Nvidia still continues support for AMD even though they nowadays make more chips for Intel.
