Microsoft's free blog editor - Windows Live Writer

Imagine you can post in your blog without using a browser! That's a blog editor ofcourse. Microsoft recently released their own beta version blog editor and what's the icing? Its absolutely free to download and use. Like most blog editors, this is also a complete application supporting almost all blog systems which only require you to type in your blogger account username/password and presto! you can start writing more! The tool have those normal features like rich text editor, spell checker, plug-in support, multiple user accounts, multiple weblogs in one editor, enhanced table creation/editing, embed media files and everything imaginable in a quality blog editor.

The cool looking interface easily blends with the latest OS Windows Vista. Over everything, this is 'WYSIWYG' compatible editor so that space where you edit content will look same as your blog's template! The exact font size, layout and text color will be there so its like editing inside your real blog page! Well, you can still turn this 'a bit buggy' feature off and edit like in normal text editors. In addition, there is a new feature which you can embed videos within posts. Right now this application is in beta stage only and so a bit of a resource eater, so recommended only for decently performing systems only and another downside is as the blogger platform do not support image hosting from clients. So Flickr and Picassa are your only options for image publishing. Apart from these small defects this is absolutely a great tool to use. Nice go Microsoft.

There are other alternatives to Live Writer you can choose like Ecto, w.bloggar, Qumana.

Nforce 6 Chipset for AMD

Recently, Nvidia launched its multi-core AMD processor compatible motherboard chipsets, the Nforce 600A series. The 680A will be the most powerful among the series while there will be lower versions with integrated graphics. With Sli support, it supports upto 4 graphic cards which means you can run 8 monitors simultaneously! The chip has exclusive support for upcoming physics processors.
So Nvidia still continues support for AMD even though they nowadays make more chips for Intel.

Whats new with DDR3?

Imagine memory modules having built in thermal modules, liquid cooled heat sinks and all! DDR3 is not very far from now. Whats new is increased bandwidth, revamped architecture, decreased voltage and such to satisfy your crave for speed. These modules' speeds would start from 800mbps; as JEDEC says it may go up to 1600mbps. Only expect these modules from big-player RAM companies for now.

DDR3 runs on around 1.5v by default. As usual, the speeds also overlap with DDR2's; 800 and 1067 speeds. Anyway the companies will launch modules with only 1333 and 1066 speeds initially.

The slot will be also look opposite to DDR2's slot. There might be thermal sensors in higher grade modules as temperature will be an issue with RAM modules as of with processors and chipsets. Right now these modules are supported only by Intel's P35 chipsets. Anyway's DDR3 will be out soon and will be for enthusiasts only... for a few months atleast till the prices fall.
